It looks like there is a cross-reference file (or sort file) that is used to access the A/R record (R1). The fix may be as simple as rebuilding the cross-reference file or deleting the record that is in error.

I know of a person who used to work for Abacus on a pert time basis. If you need assistance I can put you in contact with her.
