Maybe you are just missing volume.

With the proper software, you can prepare your mail to be sorted and presented in a very economical way... Usually a Letter Carrier Presort gives a very good discount. It is true that you require a minimum of 200 pieces to be eligible. It would also require the mail to be pre-sorted before it is actually printed.

There are many ways to submit mail both in the U.S. and in Canada.

I am currently completing a small parcel preparation software (Package Services with barcodes) that will not only save a bundle of dollars every month, but also allow tracking of shipment over the internet (directly from within Comet).

The investement is not that big... Comet, a thermal label printer, a scale, a barcode reader and damn good piece of software :-)

Address accuracy is also a key (and a must). There are lots of commercial software that will do address correction and produce a CASS certification report for address accuracy.

I already have a canadian version of the small parcels and the letter carrier presort that runs native on Comet and are both certified by Canada Post. Address accuracy is in line.

The US Postal service should give me the go ahead for my Presorted Package Services whitin a few weeks.

Remember that the biggest expense in doing business by mail is the actual cost of the stamps.
