We could have decided to call it Comet64, since it can run on 64 bit platforms. As you pointed out, that is technically incorrect since it is compiled and linked as a 32 bit app.

At some point in the future, we may make a 64 bit version of Comet. That version would not be able to run on 32 bit platforms. As it stands now, there is absolutely no advantage in making or running a true 64 bit version of comet over the present version.
