Steve:

sorry about the "Blind EXCP"... it's just that the same target is used from multiple EXCPs within the program

as to GOTOs within the EXCPSUB, I use RETURN (which, in the context of a subroutine, is a sneaky GOTO)

as to sneaky subterfuges for GOTOs, I am reminded of John von Neumann on using a formula to generate pseudorandom numbers:

"Any one who considers arithmetical methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin."

thanx for the citation of "GOTO considered harmful"... It's usually on a subscription only site like ACM or IEEE...

another favourite quote of mine is his observation that

"Simplicity is prerequisite for reliability"
