I believe the thrust of the post was about bringing old code up to current standards so that Comet could be brought up to date. Thus allowing implementation of newer features, like CSV.
Yes, you can do your own CSV formatting. Writing out CSV files under 254 isn't too difficult but using CSV makes it easier. Writing files over 254 is a harder. CSV makes it easy up to 8000. Reading and parsing CSV files of any size is a pain. Againj, CSV makes it easy.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
