was this code:
Julian = Days + Year*1000
part of an interface with Oracle/J.D.Edwards?

they originally had date formats of YYMMDD and after Y2K stuffed YYYDDD into the same 6 digits, where
YYY was CCYY - 1900
JJJ was the day within the year.....

so 2011-02-04 would be 111035 and would properly sort after 1999-12-31 (099365)
