We wrote our own editor. We started with basic commmands as the old Qantel source editor, except we dont run in (ET) mode. We then incorporated customized routines, macros, and some basic file operations (create, erase, copy, fstat), etc into it. Its so flexible its been hard for me to make the move to Ultraedit, because I can code in less time using this editor. Plus it works over CometAnywhere. I use it as a combination editor/monitor, because its ground zero for everything that a programmer or system administrator needs. I'm in the process of making a new version that uses 134/7 files instead of 94/7, so you get 120 editable bytes in every record. We also have the traditional 94/7 version that gives you 80 bytes that we've been using since 1988. One very cool feature is the ability to perform multiple search/replaces in one pass. Its a standalone product with several modules, and I'd be happy to give you a demo sometime.
