My customer is in the middle of implementing a QSPOOL to DocMgr conversion. They've been using QSPOOL to archive reports, registers, etc. QSPOOL (SP8) had over 5000 files (back to 11/2007) that are now in DocMgr (SP8). Yes, we're using the same names for consistency and security.
1) The customer doesn't like the standard file name and would like TERM$ removed. See DocMgrPS1. A name sort isn't quite right because the TERM$ interferes with the chronological order, making a search more difficult. And, TERM$ isn't that helpful anymore because Node/User give you the needed info about the "whodoneit".
2) In a QSPOOL2 to PDF printer (conversion) situation, he'd also like the TERM$ removed. He's OK with losing the "whodoneit" info to get the old SP8 docs and the new SP8 docs to sort into one chronological group. That also means removing the "YYYYMMDD" too. See DocMgrPS2.
The file names in the "Job" column would be in the form "NRQ [SP8-0000005453]".
The use of "Document=" and "SpoolMessage=" have been discussed but the program changes haven't been authorized.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
