UNC Names

You do remember that a UNC name is composed of a machine name AND A SHARE NAME followed by the remainder of the path.

\\ComputerName\ShareName\dir\dir\...

The share name is not a folder name. The folder it referrs to must be shared. It should be shared on the network. It must have read/write permissions.

Maybe this will help with your configuration issues.
