I second the comments about Windows 7
had a catastrophic failure where Windows XP wouldn't boot "no way, no how...." anyway, had to "upgrade" to Windows 7 (more likely, downgrade into the 7th level of HELL)
the bad news is:
you can't get there from here
you have to re-install everything
nothing seems to work the way it used to
I'm especially annoyed that the transition is so harsh.... and I'm not even doing "real IT" like Tom is... this is my HOME SYSTEM
for one thing, don't have the install disks for Office... am probably shifting over to Sun/Oracle Open Office suite... it has the advantage of being FREE....
