I'm sure it's not a volume problem since it's the check printer (in the dozens at most on a typical run)

the idea of COMET producing the pages too quickly might be possible, since this was done during lunch (a quiet time), so long as the "Big print job" wasn't a necessary part of the equation.

the workstation is Windows XP and the server is Windows Server 2003.
