Recently in contact with Barb about Comet32. My environment involves multiple software/hardware vendors plus Government at local, state, Fed levels. Everything/everybody is going web/mobile. Now the software/hardware/mobile push? So I missed the Comet32 rule that there are C16 apps and then there are C32!! Cranked 444 comet.exe /32 and attempted to run C16 apps expecting Comet32 to run it. Everything was screwed up with my apps. So I started to debug using my 64/64 7 with my editor and latest REL/UTL releases. Found out, NO, this is not the case. So, as a dealer, I have to keep C16/QIC object separate from C32. I can use the same source code editing it from multiple past editors but must re-compile if going to C32 systems. Seemingly, the latest Comet releases allows this. Since I'm just getting on board my 64 experiment will involve a LOCAL 64 OBJ directory. My live OBJ directory will stay on my 32-bit 2008 Server. So I got thousands of programs to verify. Past posts also include the possible positions of OTHER software/hardware vendors and their offerings. Somehow vendors have got to live together. At all my accounts have a 64/64 PC in place determining if ALL their software works. Office Suites, Browsers, Human Resource, Comet and locals are involved with their own future objectives.
