All requests for licenses are logged to the CSecSrv.log file. You could look there is you recall the approximate date and time of the event in question. All entries are time-stamped. Looks like the "Request denied" message itself is not logged however.

Depending on which version of CSecSrv you're running you will find the log file either in your CometServices folder or in the Logs folder just below that.
