"7 Set TERM$ and ITERM$ for background partitions to blanks."

As usual, I have customers with programs that use ITERM$ in background.

a) a program that sends "Printing completed" message using a DOSRW to initiating terminal.

b) programs that read the terminals date (in Z1 with key = '*' + ITERM$)

Clearing ITERM$ is not good.
