Don't think you can write to the clock from inside Comet without using DOSMS commands. READ or DSTAT is the way to refresh. And from my 1996 "Comet Instant Reference Guide, Preliminary Review Edition", you can read the date and time via DOSMS commands. At the same dealer meeting, I also received the "MS-DOS programmer's Reference for DOS 6.0". In there is shows functions 2Ah - 2Dh that Get/Set Date/Time.

I still have a source program (CED) that uses DOSMS to set the date.
