Just found out that one of my old method to refresh the clock does not work on Comet 32 compiled in 32.
I use different methods, usually I use a DSTAT of the clock 'CL1' and it does the trick. I also have some (older) programs that opens the clock and do a dummy INPUT to refresh it.
The INPUT dummy does not work on Comet 32/32.
I always wondered why doesn't Comet refresh the clock every time we request the TIME$ ? If it can't then why not have the compiler insert a refresh clock command every time it sees TIME$. I don't think TIME$ should retain an old value nor stay static. If I need a static time then I'll save TIME$ in a separate variable.
Aren't we welcomed in the 21st century ?
