Personally, when I need to build a mass compile compile file, I start with the object files and build the commands from there.

Easy utility to write.

I also maintain a permanent mass-compile command file so I can recompile all programs whenever I update a usefile and/or a library file. A quick directory listing of object folder tells me who did not compile so I can update my command file.

By the way, directory listing is real pain now, since SEQ and TEXT files are listed together... Hard to find only SEQ which are the programs that did not recompile properly...
