Taking a Snap Shot before updating.

Been doing this for years. Before actually updating anything I perform a Comet backup to a separate dir structure. A snap-shot so to speak as we all know. With all my LOCAL payroll stuff issues going on, I'm glad I've followed this procedure. It's saved me tons of time/expense. Solved past year-end issues. Now have to address internet monthly issues. Next is quarterly issues and then next annual stuff. It never ends BTW!!
