a benchmark of my SPOOL archive/conversion to .PDF

Is there any "API" or "User Exit" (yes... I'm giving away my age with that) that will allow capture of information as the QSPOOL archive is converted to a DocMgr archive (either .PDF or .TXT)

it seems to me that the following are true:

1) QSPOOL saved some information in the actual .SPL file such as the (SPOOL MESSAGE=) text
2) DocMgr generates a sequential number as the files are archived (so: QSPOOL's 00000380.SPL becomes 00000001 in DocMgr)

when I look in DocMgr's index (in my case PDFARCHX) there's only information like the sequential number above, but other information is not carried over (such as the (SPOOL MESSAGE=) or even the spool file name 00000380.SPL

I'm confident that all the information will be saved in the DocMgr index when I'm actually writing to the archive directly from an IB program. my understanding is that the way to do so is to close the .pdf file and then:
INPUT (#) MyPDFInfo$
to retrieve the name of the PDF file

That's all well and good going forward.

It seems, however, that since the archiving process doesn't even save the original spool file name (00000380.SPL), I have no way of tying the old SPOOL information to the new DocMgr (00000001) sequential number as I'm doing my mass archive/convert

I've found CometWoman's DocMgrMK.IBS program (from which I got the layout info about the DocMgr index)

but, again, this won't help me tie together the Historical information

finally, after about 04h00, I archived 175MB of SPOOLs into 2079 .PDF files However, I started with 2234 SPOOL files... now I know that empty files were a problem... but maybe having some audit trail of what happened in the archive process would make my manager happier.

Thanx to one and all

Bob "A"
