a question about the "Systems Requirements" table

The "Systems Requirements" table includes the following under Comet2011/12:
|Comet2011 and Comet2012
_____________________|_______________________
Windows2000 |No
WindowsXP Pro |Yes
Windows2003 Server |Yes
Windows Vista |32-bit only unless Comet32
Windows2008 Server |32-bit only unless Comet32
Windows 7 |32-bit only unless Comet32
Windows2008 Server R2|32-bit only unless Comet32

I'll be finished with conversion of QIC programs and IMAGE files within a week or so.

My hardware is and will still be (for the foreseeable future):
Windows2003 Server (host) with File and Security Servers
WindowsXP (almost all workstations, and a CA server)
Windows 7 (1, maybe 2 workstations)

Just wanted to be sure that the "32-bit only unless Comet32" means that the computer in question has to be 32-bit hardware, and that the Comet32 is _required_ only if the hardware is 64-bit hardware.

I've got to get to the bottom of what the problem earlier this year with a new workstation (Windows 7)... it seems that it can access the existing COMET (which is only 2008) but only in "XP emulation"... which is approximate at best. I've assumed that the way to go is Comet32, but that once I'm up to the latest 2011 (2012?) COMET everybody should be able to go forward as a stop-gap in either Comet16/Comet32

There is a long term plan to replace the hardware on the Server, which would probably be WIndows 7 when we do it.

I'd like to be able to do a phased approach from Comet16 to Comet32, and once I'm rid of QIC and IMAGE, should be able to use either 16 or 32. Since we're spread out over the Northeast, Brooklyn (where I am) would be the first roll-out, where I can keep an eye on things.
