Well we fixed it, but I'm not thrilled with the fix. Talk about low tech, this is the lowest possible.
I learned that if I print just nulls or (LF)s or (CR)s with or without trailing anything some of the lines don't print.
If I print something, anything, all the lines print.
It's a wide carriage printer printing an 89 column check. So I print "*" in column 85, bang on the platen invisibly and all is right with the checks.
YUCK.
