Reporter, Edit Mask & CSV file

I am creating a CSV with Reporter, am trying to use edit masks to "blank the zero" fields but keep getting errors that the edit masks are invalid fields. (both when i put them in #FILES or on the Print line)
read thru a bunch of posts but didn't see any specific solution
(I know i can do in Excel, but trying to give the end user as close to a finished product as possible)
