I have 3 COMET servers in Brooklyn:

\\BLCMT (a test server)
\\ALLSYS1 (current PROD server)
\\ALLSYS2 (new PROD server)

I can successfully load COMET and programs from the console of \\ALLSYS2 when I use VNC to get there.

when I try to go from one of the other servers (\\BLCMT to \\ALLSYS2) or from my workstation to \\ALLSYS2

I get the message about "REL not found"

when I looked at the startup log from when I was going from \\BLCMT to \\ALLSYS2 I get the following:

13:13:21 Using Configuration: \\allsys2\data2\CometSW\ws5.CFG
13:13:21 CFAM: Connected user "ws5" to LOCAL Server "BLCMT" - CometServe32 Version 11.02
13:13:21 CFAM: Connecting to remote server: 192.168.1.100
13:13:21 CFAM: Connected user "ws5" to REMOTE Server "ALLSYS1" - CometServe32 Version 9.01
13:13:21 CFAM: Server: ALLSYS1 (192.168.1.100) - connection successful

I can't figure out why it's looking in "ALLSYS1" when I want the REL on "ALLSYS2":
02 = C ,\\ALLSYS2\DATA2\COMETSW\REL\;

in any case, there's no COMETSW on either BLCMT or ALLSYS1... so that'd be a very good reason for "REL not found" since it's looking in the two places where it doesn't exist.

but why is COMET looking there?

Thanx!

Bob "A"
