I've run into the same situation - could not get the Comet duplex mnemonics to work. So I configured my printer twice - once with the
duplex settings turned off and the other with them turned on. Configure them as two separate Comet printers and you're all set - just have to remember that LP8 is duplex & LP9 is not.
