Grant, we can't fix the problem you reported that now we return error 03 (path not found) instead of 02 (file not found) when opening a file that does not exist. Comet just returns the error received from windows. This may be a difference between the windows 16bit runtime and the 32 bit runtime.

That being said, I am running the test program indicated below and I get consistent results on my Win XP test machine. When I specify a path that ends with a folder name, I get D05. When I specify a valid path with a file that does not exist, I get D02. When I specify a path with one of the intermediate folder components missing, I get D03.

Try the test program yourself and see if you get consistent results from c16 & c32.
