I had some similar problems with CAW Auto Update because some of the "Alias" directories didn't install during CometWorkstation. Also, using a root path is a problem. So don't use Q:\.
I think these are the four you should see on the host.
CATEMP=C:\WINDOWS\CAFiles\CATEMP
CATOOLS=C:\WINDOWS\CAFiles\CATOOLS
COMET=Q:\
CONFIGURATION=Q:\
