Based on Moore's Law considering performance is a bad idea. By the time you get the code out and tested, the machines are four times as fast as when you wrote line one of your code. Oh, if only I did not have to deal with tiny programs, IMAGE files and tiny records.
This would be really attractive if we could mix CFAM dirs with "regular" dirs. That's "regular" as in "not decaffeinated." Now we need a retronym. Retronym? A word to describe something that never needed describing as "analog watch" or "caffeinated coffee" or "landline telephone."
How about "antique DIRs"?
