XAP Question

Say I'm in an XAP program and send Data$ = CONTROL(0,'REDIR http://www.signature.net'). Will the partition I am currently in continue to execute until Kill Partition$ and start up another session for the Redirect? The reason I ask is that I do an Enter SendMail and it takes a while to return. I would like to have it do it's thing while I move the User to another page.
