Are you suggesting that the user change the screen font while an error message is on the screen? How can you run CWFONT if the screen contains the information you want to send to your developer so he/she can fix that intermittent bug that is driving you so nuts.
Try landscape mode. That's easy to do on the fly and you wont lose the screen you want to capture.
You could also capture the screen using Alt-PrintScreen and paste that into Paint and go from there.
