copyfile question

I am trying to use copyfile to create a folder on the comet file server. My understanding is that if I do a copyfile of an actual file using a folder name that does not currently exist (ie: \\cometserver\comet\newfoldername\abc.txt) and have the flags set for 4096, that copyfile will create the folder and copy the requested file name into it. My problem is that when the folder does not exist on the comet file server, I am getting an access denied (file error 5). If I manually create the empty folder on the comet file server, that copyfile and all subsequent copyfiles run just fine. I've tried running this using comet anywhere and full comet. The 'from' file is on the comet anywhere host (separate from the file server). I am currently setting the flags at 2048 + 4096. In desperation, I've added '1' to the flags but this does not work. Is there any other flags I should be setting?
