I am running current versions of Comet on a Dell rack server here in RI. The Dell Server is running ESXi VMWare 5 with three VMs active - Win2008R2, Win7 64-bit and a Win7 32-bit. The Win7 64-bit VM is a backup XAP server for the CreditLink XAP server in NJ. NJ was crushed by Sandy. Steve has found out today that he could have power and Internet back on Monday morning, possibly 7-10 days or possibly at some point after Thanksgiving. As such Steve brought up the XAP server in RI to take over, which it is currently doing. However, Steve informed me that his users are experiencing the same difficulties that he's historically experienced - for some XAP data retrieval and reporting the first page returns quickly and then subsequent pages can take minutes to return. Steve says that he has only been able to rectify this problem by running XAP on a box that has an old, simple, 10/100 Network adapter card in it. Smart NICS, on-board NICS he's always had this same problem. As my server is a 1u rackmount, I don't think there's any way that I'm getting an old-style NIC card in it. Is there any way I can get XAP running at full speed on the configuration I have in place? Should I be experimenting with the VM in terms of NIC settings? Should I be working with the NIC configred in the Win7 VM or with the settings of the physical NIC onboard? Thanks in advance.
