It seems that the tcp/ip stack used by Comet32 does not reliably translate port names such as "mail", and "smtp", to their correct numeric representations.

Please change your programs (email.ini??) into numeric port numbers such as 25 for mail and smtp. This applies to emailptr and any other program that does a connect using the WSGateway.

We will look into this anomaly within Comet32, but for now the easiest and surest fix would be for you to translate these port numbers yourself.

At this point I do not know much more than this, but I thought it prudent to broadcast this problem at this point.
