Tried to install comet 16 (VSN 468) on a new windows 7 - 32 bit machine. Everything on the install went fine, however, when I started up comet, kept getting an error that the qdir.i00 for CATEMP could not be found. Manually created the CATEMP directory in the user's TEMP folder, went to the COSW.INI file and put in the path of CATEMP. Restarted comet and the path for CATEMP was deleted and I kept getting the QDIR.I00 error. Noticed that the user name was more than 8 characters (Back-Office). Went to the Cosw.ini file and used the short name for the user name (backof~1) and it worked. Even though the cosw.ini had the full name for the path of LOGS and CATOOLS, the short name for the user name was needed when defining CATEMP. You may want to check this out.
