This was solved by taking a SWAG (Scientific, though Wild-A$$ed Guess)...

Wed Feb 06 16:00:45 Logout [WS5] 192.168.1.105:54800
Wed Feb 06 16:00:45 Disconnect 192.168.1.105:54800

remembered that I have direct access to the NEW server .... so I went in directly to the server, logged in as WS5 and then immediately logged out and terminated that node

still don't know what happened on Friday... but that's for another day...

thanx

Bob "A"

P.S. as was written in the great anti-war novel "The Good Soldier Svejk": Maul halten und weiter dienen ['Grin and bear it and get on with the job'] - as they used to tell us in the army. That's the best and finest thing of all.”
