Because the printer is RAW, the DES can't use Windows CPI/LPI. You have to use PCL coding to control the printer. So, maybe a new DES for LPZ. LP9 seems to be OK as it is.
In landscape, setting the LPI to 8 should give you 66 lines (8.5 * 8) the same as you'd have in portrait (6 *11).
I've forgotten all the PCL I knew, which wasn't much :) HP.com still has, I hope, PCL manuals in PDF.
