had a nagging feeling that there was still some restriction on SPOOL/PRINTER names.... happily it's only on the _FIRST_ letter:

Spool-names are in the form “Sxx” (where xx can be any alphanumeric character).
Printer-names are in the form “Lxx” (where xx can be any alphanumeric character).

Am at the point of finally gettting around to bringing over my ancient SPOOL files and was stuck on naming conventions (a very ancient issue that readers of this post are probably the only ones who have withstood contentions over naming conventions in the past :)
