edited my .INI and saved it as
F:\COMET2011\BL.INI
re-sysgenned for two new places for "original spool and archive" called
SOL (original SPL - spool)
SOA (original SPA - spool archive where the monthly reports live)
I rebuilt the empty QDIR for both
I added the two new dirs to my DAB list for that password
yet, can't see the two new dirs..... ???
checked with COMETEX.... going down the list of DABs.... there's a gap of two numbers where the two new dirs should be in the list, based on where they are in the list of [DIRECTORIES] in .INI
so.... big time stab in the dark/grabbing at straws.... re-saved my INI file as:
D:\DATA\COMET2011\BL.INI
(since F: points to D:\DATA, this shouldn't have any effect)... but wait... there's more...
re-sysgenned and now everything is visible.....
my suspicion is that this might have something to do with the way I specified the "new" dictionaries as:
C ,\\BLCMT\DATA\COMET\SOL\;
C ,\\BLCMT\DATA\COMET\SOA\;
and that somehow this symbolic indirection has something to do with my problem because one way "D:\DATA\" is "direct" and "F:\" is indirect..
to re-cap.... dealing with Windows at this level is way beyond my competence.... but a well-timed SWAG (Scientifically Wild-Assed guess) can deliver the necessary result.
