QSPOOL document files are named using a serial number and a file extension of the spool name. So, yes, if you make a new spool called STL the files will be named nnnnnnnn.STL. If you remove the SPL spool definition from your .ini you won't have a QSPOOL spool called SPL anymore.

Perhaps what you need is a different .ini for Comet16 than for Comet32.
