I realised now that a UE (version 18.??) from last year is out of the free update year, but should still work.

I didn't realise that UE licences worked like Comet licences... you can still run, but you can't upgrade unless you pay for the new licence.

I thought that UE 18.?? wouldn't work unless I paid for the upgrade to UE V19.10

I'll try to download the Comet development environment and then proceed from there

P.S. I got UE last year but then got bogged down in the whole upgrade that I didn't return to it. I'm sure it will be very hard to use as my primary editor since I've used Notepad++ for nearly 4 years now and there are lots of plugins to do what I need. On the other hand it should be possible to just use UE for the compile processing and only use UE as an editor for removing the errors. dunno... will report back
