May not be applicable to anyone, but I had a special case where it was. End-user was running DBX 1.0, the old .d00 methodology Comet Data Express. They wound up setting up a bunch of custom MSAccess programs to accept data generated from DBMGR Excel View. The Access programmer moved on and the column headings from the new Reporter do not match up with old so they've stayed on an old version of Comet, REL/UTL. They just migrated to a new Win2012 server and Excel View in CDE 1.0 stopped working. Turns out Win2012 ships with default disabled handling of 8.3 filenames. CDE 1.0 works with 8.3 filenames. Fix was to enable 8.3 format handling and then recopy the .d00 files from the old server. All back & working now. Thanks to CometWoman for some above & beyond troubleshooting on an old version of CDE!
