Customer calls on 08/30/13. One user is getting error messages when they run any WDL program.

Comet32 running Comet16 OBJ's. WinXP SP3.

1) COSW:Dll Open - "c:\........\CATOOLS\CometWM.dll is not a valid Win32 application."

2) COSWIN (Msgbox)- "Unable to load DLL"

3) Comet (Msgbox) - "DLL=CometWM.dll DIR=WIN"

#3 - my Msgbox that tells me which DLL is causing the problem. Only exists because #2 is so unhelpful.

#2 - the Msgbox buried somewhere in the WDL

#1 - never seen this one before

The DLL is my medium screen resolution (over 1024 and below 1920) DLL. User is running 1600x900 so this is the right DLL for the user.

I redelivered the DLL remotely but the problem persisted.

I drove over to the customer and looked down the path to the C:\...\CATOOLS\Cometwh.dll file. It was present but the size was ZERO. It had a date/time stamp of 08/29/13 at 2:30PM. Apparently, the date/time on the empty file was newer than the date/time on the redelivered file and the CATOOLS version did not get updated.

Used Windows explorer to copy the redelivered DLL over to c:.

How does a dll get cleared???
