What you're thinking of is the CREATE statement for a text file CREATE FLNM$,DIR=ZFXD$,EXCP=5000
If the text file does not exist when that statement is reached, the file is created and registered in QDIR.
If the text file does exist, then Comet leaves the file alone and makes sure that an entry is registered in QDIR.
So, if the file exists, you can be sure that Comet won't clear any data that is already in the text file and that you'll have a QDIR entry for the file.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
