For Comet 2004 users you no longer need to worry about the version-specific CAUpdxxx.exe program. Instead, a program simply called CAUpd.exe is used. You'll find it in the Comet folder on the host machine. It will be automatically transferred to the ($INSTALL) folder on the remote machine. It's then launched to perform the upgrade.

The remote users should be prompted with the option to upgrade any time they start Comet and a difference in the version of their CosW is found. Note that they will be asked even if they are running a newer version than the host. The idea is to match the remote to the host regardless of which is newer. Please be more specific about the differences you've seen if Comet.exe is used vs CosW.exe. I'm not sure it should make a difference.
