node abort/comet time out

I have just installed c2004 with the latest cometsrv.nlm. We are now having a number of work stations disconneted with a comet time out error. It seems to be only win98 workstations. It is sporadic in nature. Any suggestions? We have the latest novell patchs and the latest novell client 32.
