I was just wondering... If icons are associated to files via the file extension, then I don't see how Contiguous, Text, Sequential and plain data file could inherit an Icon. Where the .I00 of a keyed file might get it's own icon, the data portion of it would not since it has no file name extension.

As far as the samples provided, my own impression is that these icons are too literal. Like "Keyed"... in a Windows machine I could see that icon assigned to tons of other things. The Comet keyed files is more like an Indexed Keyed files... INDEX is the magic word.

As far as the xSeries of Icons, I do not dislike the idear but would consider maybe playing a bit more with the colors... A bit like what I did with the Internet Basic (IB) icons. See my download page at www.masterdebugger.net
