There's actually more to it than that. If DirBuild finds a short file name for any file it will ask you if you want to ignore all files with long names. It will only find a short file name if the file has a long name and 8.3 file name support is enabled on the file server. Some time ago (Server 2008 I think) Microsoft started disabling short file name support by default. Apparently it was disabled on Tom's system so he was never given the option of skipping them. This particular file's name also had some non-standard characters in it.
Maybe the solution is for DirBuild to automatically skip files with long names if 8.3 name support is disabled.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
