I don't know why one node should be different from the others.
the only think I haven't tried is to copy C:\COMET from one of the other machines and download it onto the failed machine... that's next.

P.S. had somebody reload the COMET server before Start of Business today.... didn't help
P.P.S. if we upgrade to the latest (479?) then we'll only be able to have each node signed on once. If one of them fails.... then what? how do I cancel the user out of the Security Server... I can see how I can block a user, but how do I shutdown a user if they're already active.
