I have set up 2 Virtual Servers at Rack Space as follows:
Server 1
name: comet-test-2
Virtual Server type: Rackspace ‘Performance 1’ - 2 GB system
ram: 2 GB
vCPU: 2 Intel Xeon E5-2670 @ 2.60 GHz
Hard drive: 40 GB SSD
network Bandwidth: 400 Mb/s
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with all current updates 64 bit
Server 2
name: cometAnywhere
Virtual Server type: Rackspace ‘Standard’ - 1 GB system
ram: 1 GB
vCPU: 1 AMD Opteron 4170 HE @ 2.10 GHz
Hard drive: 40 GB disk
network Bandwidth: 120 Mb/s
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with all current updates 64 bit
• Server 1 and Server 2 are connected on a private virtual network with a private IP space.
• Names are listed in host files to avoid dns lookups.
• Servers are able to resolve each other’s names at the command line.
• ping reveals a network latency of < 1 ms in both directions.
• Comet software and data is loaded on Server 1 and directory tree is shared.
• Server 1 share is mapped to a network drive on Server 2.
• Comet software is run via the share.
Server 1 hosts XAP and contains Comet Directories, Comet Executables, Credit Link Directories and Credit Link Object. This server is secured by a Virtual Certificate.
Server 2 has a Shortcut that runs Comet on the XAP Server..
Testing on Server 1 went very well. XAP ran quickly and my old Comet Text programs without error.
Testing on Server 2, the Comet Anywhere Node resulted in errors that do not make sense. For example when reading through a keyed file I received an EXCP 11 File Not Found before all records were read.
Not sure if the problem was with my programs or Comet, I ran TEST4 for 2000 records x 40 iterations and a large file copy on 2 different sessions of the Comet Anywhere Host. Both programs were started at the same time.
I received similar nonsensical errors.
Both programs halted before completion, displayed errors and unloaded Comet.
Server 1 and Server 2 are on different Rack Space Hosts. I'm guessing if both Virtual Servers were on the same host there would not be any problems. Then again I could be wrong. Any other suggestions?
I have attached the Comet Logs from the Comet Anywhere server. the CFAM log clearly shows errors.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
