TLS & SSL

It is known that
1) EmailPtr is able to use TLS with a SMTP server.
2) It requires Comet32.

So my question is, can we use the TLS and/or SSH hooks?

I am required to write a mail program using IMAP and since some users are at remote sites, using unencrypted password is not a very good choice.

So, can we use TLS?

Also

Is Comet using OpenSSL? If so, has it been upgraded to 1.0.1g ?
