With SYSGEN you can add a DES program. It is automatically called whenever you: Open a Printer, do a (FF) or Close. You can then do whatever you want with this program without touching your original reports.

in SYSGEN you would add the DES on the printer line:

Printer = LPR,W,N,,#:RAW,DES-PCL,; ! Default Windoze Printer in RAW Mode

where DES-PCL is you IB program to initialize your HP Printer
